So, this is Kenya, day in day out politics! From dawn to dusk, from electioneering period to another.
Majority of Kenyans wish they could be citizens of other countries, in Kenya they are not different from refugees.
Lyrics like 'Kenya yetu ni nchi tunayoipenda' fits the cartels, cartels who have milked Kenya from milk to blood!
People whose agenda end when they resume office. When they go to Parliament, their bills are condom provision programs to secondary schools, gender equality, salary increment, and other huge allowances.
They worry less about Kenyan economy, and the common citizen who are voters.
We can't keep on listening to condom bills when Kenyan education is as useless as the word. The CSs who have been in education have fucked it, the only exception is the no nonsense man, Doctor Matiangi and may be, Sam Ongeri.
Every year, more than 50k students join Kenyan universities with the hope of getting white collar jobs. They receive a few coins in the name of Helb loans, but these loans have now become an obstacle for individual development.
The other day we saw the Helb loan board say that they want to arrest loan defaulters, but do you think this could be the remedy to defaulting?
Look! For example, we have graduates who are out there close to 10 years without a job opportunity. They have applied, and replied. Their luck has never come to pass. Then the government and Helb loan board is on their neck, we will arrest you; Helb loan defaulters!
The worst of all, the Helb loan board have opted to enlist graduates on loan with CRB. An implication that if a graduate on loan may want to start a small business enterprise, they can not access loans from loan lending organization so that they can start repaying the so called Helb loans.
Education is no longer the key to success, but a door to the grave!
A few days a go, Kibeti Afred, a graduate from Jomo Kenyatta University posted his degree certificate on his Facebook handle account saying, and I quote him,
"I might not be as proud but it has my name, when I die put it in a frame and replace it as my pic on my coffin, that's my wish, bye!"
So, this speaks louder why Kenyan education is as useless as the word. The government should not spend huge sums of money to ministries that has become unhelpful. Better they could start programs that can help young people create employment opportunities and move on with life. Education is no longer helpful, but useless and regrettable. Somebody tell the Kenyan government!
